Tartu, May 11, 2023 – A significant milestone in Tartu’s pilot journey was marked as the Tartu Climate Council and Digitalisation (TCCD) convened for their inaugural meeting. This crucial gathering aimed to kickstart the co-design process for the upcoming pilot project, a vital step in enhancing the city’s commitment to climate action and digitalisation.
A total of 34 invitations were extended, strategically targeting representatives from territorial authorities, citizens, and various stakeholders. The diverse group of 17 attendees included individuals from small Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), civic initiatives, academic institutions, the corporate sector, and environmental organizations. Notably, participants represented the broad spectrum of interests, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
The first meeting delved into essential topics, including the introduction of the PHOENIX project, details about the cooperation group, insights into the pilot project, and an overview of the Tartu Circular Economy Roadmap process. Engaging group discussions centered around core themes such as food sustainability, the engagement model, methodologies, stages for the citizens’ assembly, and the pivotal role of experts, distinguishing between facilitators and listeners.
This collaborative effort signifies a dynamic approach, bringing together expertise from diverse sectors and fostering an environment where community voices contribute to shaping the future of Tartu’s sustainable initiatives.
