She navigates innovative areas of sustainability, such as biomimicry, systems thinking, complexity theory, deep ecology and ecosystems regeneration. She is also experienced as a group facilitator, working for 10+ years with action research and participatory processes, as well as a designer of experiences for transformative learning. Her early interest in working for a positive ecological transition took her to global events, such as RIO+20, COP21 in Paris, France and the recent COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Rafaela holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil, with a period of studies at the University of Münster, Germany, as well as an MSc in Holistic Science from Schumacher College – Plymouth University, UK. Currently, she is concluding an MSc in Urban Water Cycle from the University of Algarve, Portugal.
